The Masthead

Journal of the Association of Opinion Journalists, formerly National Conference of Editorial Writers.

Published by membership and subscription on paper through 2009 and online through 2011, Masthead now is publicly visible online at the AOJ site: http://opinionjournalists.org/masthead.

When the site's updating is done, members -- and only members -- will be able to comment on Masthead content.

Mission Statement: The Association of Opinion Journalists is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the craft of opinion journalism through education, professional development, exploration of issues of public importance and vigorous advocacy within journalism organizations.

All members and officers are journalists employed in the professional preparation and dissemination of opinion articles (now including broadcasts and online videos) for publication, broadcast or webcast by news organizations; plus retirees and those who actively teach in the field. Associate memberships exist. For details, see the membership pages of the AOJ website. All AOJ work except staff support is by volunteers.
